Let us take you to the beach for a moment. As you drive into the parking lot, you already feel yourself unwind. The pace slows. The stress loosens its grip. You step out of the car, and immediately the wind runs through your hair. The sun warms your skin.

You walk toward the beach. In the distance, someone shouts, “Celebrate life!” Once you hit the sand, you spot the kites and sails lined up, ready to go.

But there’s no rush to hit the water just yet. First, you let yourself soak in the rising sun. “What a life,” you imagine the surfers thinking.

That hang-loose vibe is unmistakable

The first beach cafés begin to open, chairs gently rolled outside. No one seems in a hurry here. And honestly? There’s no need to be. As you stroll onto the beach, your attention is drawn to a small group of surfers. You wander over, flip-flops in the soft sand and ask if you can join them. “Sure bro!” comes the reply, in perfect harmony from an American and an Aussie. “Coffee?” Of course you say yes. The thermos comes out of a backpack, a plastic cup is pressed into your hand. Simple. Easy. Just right.

You sink into the warm sand, stretch your legs, and gaze out toward the horizon. While sitting there, you catch pieces of the conversation: “Chill out bro, feel the waves, grab the wind and just enjoy the ride…”

As you listen, something starts to click. You begin to understand the way they think. The way they look at the world. The way they become one with nature—simply by speaking about it. And then you notice something else.

They don’t see the ocean the way we do

• The currents?
• Jellyfish?
• Sharks?

Sure, they know they’re there. But that’s not what guides them. Through their eyes, the sea becomes a canvas of opportunity. They’re painting on the water—with the sun as their biggest fan.

The conversation fades. You lie back. Your head on the sand. And before you know it—you’re dreaming. You see yourself surfing. Jump after jump. Gliding. And with every wave, it’s as if you’re getting better and better. “Wow… what a life.” You’re soaking it all in.

And the water? It feels like it’s speaking to you…

“Am I becoming one with the elements?” You couldn’t care less. You feel the joy of the sun. The wind guiding you. And suddenly, you realize you’re dreaming—but it’s a dream that has something to tell you. “Deep wisdom… deep wisdom…” You see how life really works. Why you’re here. How you’ve spent all these years trying so hard. When all life ever asked of you—was to simply be. The very thing those surfers seem to have understood all along.

For a moment, doubt creeps in…“But can I make a living like this?” And just as quickly, that doubt dissolves. Because—what if everything really is possible? Out of nowhere, you hear: “Just BE, my friend… just BE.” You jolt awake! Look around. The surfers are already out there, dancing on the water. “Hang loose, my friend!” someone shouts your way. Yes. Yes. YES. You finally get it. No—you feel it.

And then… your whole body starts to shake.

What is this? Where’s that sound coming from? “Daddy, daddy — wake up!” You gasp, eyes wide open—and stare into your daughter’s bright blue eyes. “Come on, you promised! BEACH, BEACH, BEACH!” echoes through the house. Oh yeah… right. You did promise.As you grab the car keys, the sandwiches from the fridge, towels and swimsuits, you glance around—half-awake, half-wondering…

“Was that all just… a dream?”
